Where did the time go?

Posted by Kagome on 2011-03-02 09:58:10 PST

There was such a dramatic change between the weather in January/February to March, it went from winter to early/mid spring in a week! People always bring up weather when a conversation is dry, but talking about it always makes me happy. It gets me thinking about different things, especially memories. Maybe the cool breezes release some nice endorphins and make me happy, haha. Although I also like mildly overcast days as well...I'm just weird, but at least the lighting is good for photography!

I love starting off the day with Philosophy class (I'm doing an independent study with my friend Jen.). It always puts me in a good mood. Our teacher bought us drinks from Starbucks (I asked for a hot chocolate...I'm such a kid) and we talked about a potential field trip, yay! (Potential places: yoga, Indian restaurant, SMU library--yes, they are all relevant! Oh the joys of taking philosophy.) Bah, she's so nice. She also helped us research for our presentations! I'm presenting a general overview of miracles, mainly because recent events have led me to ponder them. smileyHelpful people = love.

Short and sweet entry, but mainly because I have so much  to do tonight laugh.

  • Study for Times Quiz
  • Study for Calc Quiz and do AP Problem
  • Study for Mandarin Character/Vocab Quiz
  • Create and memorize script for Mandarin
  • Read for and then take Psychology Quiz (by 12am)

Must improve time management skills. Rosh, help me out here! I did have tea (before school) and hot chocolate this morning...so hopefully I'll be wired for the day. I want to sleep by 12!  wink

No, I'm not okay

Posted by Kagome on 2011-02-26 17:56:35 PST

...but everything will be alright with time.

So much can happen within a week. You can start off on the right foot and still end up tripping and falling. It's amazing how the world is still moving while a whole community is mourning. It just doesn't seem right.

I didn't know you as a best friend, but I did know you as a role model, in fact, someone I envied. You put meaning into each second, each minute, of your life; even a total stranger could sense your determination and confidence from miles away.

Thanks to you, I don't want to leave my dreams suspended in my distorted definition of time. I want to make a reality. Yes, the images in my head are outlandish, but that'll just put me closer to the me I want to be. Time management used to be a funny, loose term to me, but now that's changed.

I remember during sophomore retreat, when we were taking our "BOW" (Brown of the World, oh wow XD) picture, you were standing right next to me. I didn't know what your opinion of me was, hate, like, or indifference so I kept a fair distance between us. Right before we took the picture you said in your sassy tone "what are you doing? Come over here!" and reeled me in with one arm, close to your side.

...

I longingly looked at those leftover cupcakes. Ugh, I'm always so hungry after school; why couldn't I save half of my advisory snacks for after school?! I'll just have to get home quickly. Bah, the downsides of being a fatty. Ack, I shouldn't be staring at them; I looked back into my locker and started packing my things.

"You want one? I really don't want them, take them!" you said.

Knowing me I probably walked over without second thought, a ridiculous facial expression, and a drooling mouth. It was the best cupcake I ever had, and I'm not a cupcake person. Vanilla cake with a sweet light strawberry frosting that I never had before.

So in your memory, I made some nice red velvet cupcakes, and I'm going to distribute them among my new friends here. Seems like we're both in new places this year.

I hope you're enjoying heaven. Do you really get to watch us from up there? Watching uneditted television must be a lot of fun; you get to see the reality. "A real test of our character is what we do in private, not public" -T.D. Jakes. I'll keep that in mind more often now.

And as I come to a closing, I have that weak feeling in my throat, and while I want to show my heart's tears, I recognize that you probably didn't want things to end up like this either. So take care my friend, and while I know it'll take me a while to catch up to where you left off, but I'll make it and continue.

In three days you've done more for me than I've ever done for myself.

Thank you so very much for everything you've done, and enjoy your new life. And when you come back to visit us, do keep in mind that there's always room for you in everyone's heart.

Rest in peace Roshney Simon (April 4, 1993-February 23, 2011).

Much love,
Me

Big plans for Valentine's Day

Posted by Kagome on 2011-02-14 15:19:47 PST

Dad: We'll just go out for dinner.
Me: Where to?
Dad: McDonalds!

Bahaha, my dad is so cute when he's not bothering me about school. He's also where I get my infinite love for food from. We both have the amazing ability to eat with our eyes.

I wonder what we're going to have for dinner...I always raid the fridge at least once an hour hoping some new food will magically pop out of nowhere laugh. Anyway...

Happy Valentine's Day! smiley

Bah, I have quite a handful of belated Valentine's to send out too. Why must I have a Calculus quiz and test the same week?! angel

Time to go do that practice AP Physics test...and then webcam party with Kari! Ooooo, Macy's and Forever 21 are having sales...

Aw, the sunset was so pretty today! frown Sorry for the blurry pictures, I had to take them quickly.
